Course Description

BUAD 182: Decision Tools for Business Analytics

3 credits
 

In this course, productivity tools are taught with a method designed to develop logic skills and analytic thinking, the foundation of business analytics, and the student will demonstrate an understanding of the concepts of such tools. Through experiential learning by exposure to various decision-support tools, the student will adopt a methodology and appreciation for computer-supported decision making while developing competency in using spreadsheet and database applications in a Windows® environment. The fundamentals of computer-supported problem-solving are discussed, demonstrated, and practiced.

In addition, this course prepares the student expressly for core business classes such as accounting, economics, marketing, finance, and business statistics by doing the following: expose to real business templates that meet professional standards; provide a useful reference to be used in business classes; and instruct how to use software as a tool to accomplish business goals.  

 
Prerequisites: BUAD 103 and COSC 030 are recommended
