Certification
is highly recommended in accounting. A Certified
Public Accountant (CPA) designation is sponsored
by the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants. Candidates for CPA certification
must possess a bachelor's degree or its equivalent
from an accredited college-level institution.
Candidates interested in the
Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification
must be of good moral character,
be employed or expect to be employed in the management
accounting area, and hold a bachelor's degree
or its equivalent form an accredited college-level
institution. Most importantly, the applicant
must already be a certified public accountant.
