Dr. John Mawhinney

 

John Mawhinney, executive associate professor, leads Duquesne's supply chain management program. He has 30 years of experience as a supply chain management professional, having held a variety of supply chain positions with Westinghouse Electric Corporation and Eaton/Cutler-Hammer before joining Duquesne. Today, Mawhinney continues to work as a supply chain management consultant.

Both his peers and his students have recognized Mawhinney for his teaching prowess. In 2002, the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity honored him with the Kurt Rethwisch Outstanding Teacher Award, and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity honored him with their Apple Polishing Award in 2005.

His research interests include developing metrics to evaluate the impact of supply chain management strategies on corporate performance. Mawhinney earned a bachelor's degree in logistics and marketing at the Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his doctoral studies in supply chain education at Duquesne.

 

Dr. William D. Presutti

 

Dr. William D. Presutti, Jr., associate professor, founded Duquesne's supply chain management programs in 1991. He started his career as a logistics officer in the U.S. Air Force and later held supply chain management positions with local and national firms.

His research interests include e-procurement strategy, the impact of reverse auctions on buyer-supplier relationships and the impact of effective supply chain management on a firm's financial position. Presutti's work has appeared in the Journal of Purchasing and Materials Management, the Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management and the Journal of Education for Business, as well as several trade journals. He also has presented his findings at various North American research symposia sponsored by the Institute for Supply Management.

Presutti holds a B.S.B.A. from Duquesne and a master's degree from Northeastern University. He earned his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University.

 

Dr. Petros Christofi

  Dr. Petros C. Christofi, an associate professor who earned his Ph.D. from Penn State University, studies productivity and Total Quality Management analysis. His research has been published in Managerial Finance, Spoudai, Advances in Mathematical Programming and Financial Planning, the Journal of Investing, the Journal of Accounting and Finance Research, International Securities Vol. II and Internal Auditing.
 

Dr. Matthew Drake

  Dr. Matthew Drake, assistant professor, earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he taught transportation and logistics modeling. His work has been published in the Journal of Engineering Education and his research interests include empirical evaluation of supply chain performance and analysis of ethical issues related to supply chain collaboration.
 

Dr. Kathryn Marley

 

Dr. Kathryn Marley, assistant professor, earned her Ph.D in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, where she taught courses in Operations Management and Statistics. Her work has been published in Decision Sciences and Business and Society and her research interests include lean management, supply chain disruptions, continuous improvement programs and empirical methods.
