Duquesne University's A.J. Palumbo School
of Business Administration is delighted to announce
the Glen Beeson Memorial Scholarship Award. Multiple
scholarships will be awarded this year to qualified
freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors from the A.J.
Palumbo School of Business Administration. Business
students with a QPA of 3.50 or higher at the start of the spring 2009 semester are eligible
to apply.
Awards are made based on written applications
submitted by students early in the spring semester.
A Scholarship Selection Committee comprised of
Dr. Lillian Beeson and Business School faculty
and administrators will review the applications.
The annual award will be effective for the
fall semester of the next academic year. Factors
considered in the selection process include academic
achievement with a 3.50 or higher QPA; university
and community service; employment history; financial
need, and merit, and a personal statement related
to your current situation and career goals.
Applications are available in the Advisement
Office of the A.J. Palumbo School of Business
Administration in 705 Rockwell Hall and online
(see below). Completed
applications must be submitted to the Advisement
Office, 705 Rockwell Hall by 12:00 PM on Monday,
March 16, 2009. We strongly recommend
that you submit your application as early as
possible. Your early submission allows sufficient
time to resolve any administrative problems or
questions.
The following are instructions for application:
The overall quality and completeness of the information you submit is very important. The quality of information submitted by the applicants will determine the list of finalists.
Selected finalists may be asked to appear before the Scholarship Selection Committee for a personal interview. If conducted, the personal interview will serve as the final step in the selection process.
Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the submission of a Financial Aid form from the Financial Aid Office.
Applicants unable to demonstrate financial need as defined by the Financial Aid Office will be considered for scholarship assistance based on merit, and therefore meritorious achievements should be emphasized in the essay.
