The Economics program investigates how people make choices when faced with scarcity and how societies distribute scarce resources such as land, labor, raw materials and machinery to produce goods and services. As a discipline, economics prepares students for many professional careers since it can be applied to a wide range of real-world problems. Students in the economics concentration choose to follow either the Business Economics or Public Policy track. The flexibility of this concentration can make the student more adaptable to changing opportunities after graduation and provides excellent preparation for graduate studies in a variety of disciplines.
