From the North
Take I-79 South to I-279 South. Approaching downtown, look for the exit with Veteran's Bridge and Liberty
Bridge signs and proceed on these two lanes. As
you cross the Veteran's Bridge move into one of
the two right-most lanes and look for 6th and
7th Avenue signs. Then look for the EXIT ONLY
sign—bearing left; and for the Mellon Arena
signs. Bear left—with the USX Building and Ramada
Hotel on your right—and proceed toward the Mellon
Arena in the right lane. At the traffic light, turn right—at this point the Mellon Arena is
on your left and the Chatham Center is approaching
on the right. Cross Fifth Avenue and turn left
onto Forbes Avenue; the next street. Follow Forbes
Avenue past the Duquesne University sign and immediately
past the Armstrong Tunnels and enter the Forbes
Parking Garage on your right (half block before
you approach Magee Street and the A.J. Palumbo
Center). Turn right into the garage and park.
In the parking Garage take elevator to the 8th
floor and once on campus (the Student Union will
be in front of you) proceed right down the hill.
Rockwell Hall will be the stone building on the
block after Subway. Enter the building—you will
be on the 2nd floor. Take the elevator to the
7th floor, Room 713.
From the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport
Travel via the Parkway to Downtown Pittsburgh
(17 miles), *entering the city
by the Fort Pitt Tunnel and the Fort Pitt Bridge.
Stay in the right lane through the tunnel and
over the bridge and make the first right turn
along the river (following signs to Monroeville), then get into the left lane as soon as possible
and take the first exit at Grant Street. (This
exit will be on the left.) Take Grant Street
to Forbes Avenue (6th light immediately after
statue of Mayor Caliguri at courthouse—on right)
and turn right. **Follow
Forbes Avenue several blocks and the block past
the Armstrong Tunnels —- enter the Forbes Parking
Garage on your right (half block before you approach
Magee Street and the A.J. Palumbo Center). Turn
right into the garage and park. In the parking
Garage take elevator to the 8th floor and once
on campus (the Student Union will be in front
of you) proceed right down the hill. Rockwell
Hall will be the stone building on the block after
Subway. Enter the building—you will be on the
2nd floor. Take the elevator to the 7th floor, Room 713.
From the South
Take I-79 North to the Parkway and continue into the city as described above From the Airport. See * above.
From the East
Exit the PA Turnpike at Monroeville (Pittsburgh
Exit) and follow the Parkway (I-376 West, Route
22-30, I-279) to the Boulevard of the Allies and
Duquesne University exit. You will now be
on the Boulevard of the Allies. Merge into the
right lane. You will approach a set of flashing
yellow lights and on your right will be Mercy
Hospital, at this point veer right off the Boulevard
onto Bluff Street and you will then come to a
stop sign. Proceed straight until you reach the
guard booth—checking with the guard and continuing
straight on Bluff Street. Follow Bluff Street
to McAnulty Drive and turn right. Follow McAnulty
down the hill past another guard booth and through
the stop sign at Locust Street. Proceed down McAnulty
to Forbes Avenue and turn right onto Forbes. Proceed
on Forbes Avenue to the Forbes Parking Garage
as described above from the Airport. See **
